Tomorrow, May 30th from 6 – 8 PM, SB Regional High School will hold a SEPAC meeting open to parents of special education students and other interested parties at the High School Library.
MASSPAC at the Federation for Children with Special Needs is a 501(c)3 organization. A SEPAC is a parent run information organization established as a resource for support and networking for parents/guardians and interested parties who have children with special needs, disabilities, or learning disorders. SEPACs are mandated to advise the school committee and administration on the needs of the students in the community who require special education services and supports. They are charged with working toward the understanding and educational supports for all children with special needs and learning differences in Somerset-Berkley and our surrounding communities.
SEPACs fulfill the requirement for the Massachusetts State Mandate on PARENT ADVISORY COUNCILS 603 CMR 28.00 Special Education 28.07 Parent Involvement (4) Parent advisory participation. Each school district shall create a district-wide parent advisory council offering membership to all parents of eligible students and other interested parties.
